Basic Methodology

Kainos Enterprises has developed methodology to contact huge numbers of people in the minimal amount of time to find those giving an appropriate response for whatever ministry challenge is before us. That particular challenge is dictated by the circumstances and the organization we are working with. Kainos functions seamlessly with churches and agencies. Our name is never placed before people, only the name of the agency or individuals which we represent. We’re always calling "on behalf of" someone else. We are invisible to your contacts except by our personal names.

The Message

The range of information communicated is carefully developed in consultation with the mission, individual missionary, church or agency. The conversation only includes what the agency decides. When we encounter a question to which the contactor has no answer, we give an honest "I don’t know" answer and promise to find the appropriate additional information for them and communicate back. In this way, we become the voice of the agency. On more than one occasion people have reported to us how courteous and engaging our contactor was. Some have suggested it was the best conversation they ever had with a "telemarketer." First of all, we don’t have telemarketers. Secondly, that positive kind of person is the only person we ever put on the phone. We only use people the agency itself or the missionaries themselves would have chosen if they had gone through the process of directly searching for and hiring a staff member. While there is a very rare occasion in which someone is offended by the nature of our phone calls, the overwhelming results point to the fact that people appreciate the interest. In fact, this is true in our church planting projects when we contact the community at large to find out if they’re interested in hearing from a new church. The first moment someone suggests they don’t want to talk to us we encourage our contactors to courteously conclude the conversation. We never proceed past the person’s "No" response.

Team Work

The main reason it makes sense to use our approach and our people is that it is cost-effective. That is, it costs less and it is effective. It is cost-effective because our people are trained in a narrow range of behaviours. They know when they are on the phone talking to people they are not responsible for anything else. They know when they are entering data in the computer they are not responsible for talking on the phone. The camaraderie created when our people are working together side-by-side is outstanding. It is a lonely taxing job to call people by oneself. It is fun when others are in the task with you. The efficiency of our approach more than doubles the actual productivity in terms of time invested in communication with the donors.

Assistance

Kainos supplies all the services needed to complete the programs we design and initiate. For example, we manage data, write and design the literature, print, contact by phone and prepare bulk mail—all in house. We request that client missionaries attend at the call centre for at least part of the time when we are conducting calls. We have all our contactors spend a minimum of an hour getting to know the clients before they contact people on their behalf. Because these contactors are all experienced in this aspect of the ministry, they get the answers to 99% of the questions they will hear on the phone during this briefing session. These people who could contact on your behalf are simply friends you haven’t met yet.

Seminars

Kainos Enterprises conducts regular seminars covering the systems. You are invited to call for information about when you can visit us in Mississauga, Ontario and watch the process first hand. We would be happy to arrange billets for you while you visit. Or if you prefer, we can arrange hotel accommodation for you. A great hotel with an indoor pool and restaurant is right across the road from our office. Plan to stay a few days and see some sights in the Greater Toronto Area. Our office is about 15 minutes from Toronto International Airport. We would be happy to arrange ground transportation for you while you are in town.

Economy

Of course, it costs to conduct a program. However, we do everything we can to make it as economical as possible. We are at your service. We will customize a budget for your campaign based on your specific needs.

Capacity

Kainos has the resource capacity at present to finish two Titus Plan campaigns a week. Kainos is committed to increasing capacity to finish one campaign every day. Infrastructure is being built to achieve placing one missionary on the field every day of the year!

Video Conferencing

In addition, Kainos is planning to conduct video conferencing on the internet so that you can see a campaign live from your own home. When those resources are in place, we will be conducting live video training as part of the package. We are not there yet. But soon—by His grace—we will be there for you.
